February 15, 2008:
It is with a heavy heart that we offer our condolences to the friends and family of Kurtis Gurden, who passed away tragically at work following an accident. Kurt was a huge fan of ours, a close friend, and a true metal warrior. He could always be counted on for a laugh and for cheering up all around him. We wish his family our prayers and thoughts at this tragic time.

Final Stage is pleased to announce the release of their upcoming album, Through the Mirror.
After releasing the highly praised Demo EP, Flight of the Phoenix in 2006 (notably an 11/12 score in Heavy! Magazine), the band returns with their first full-length album, Through the Mirror. Drawing on influences from metal giants such as Judas Priest, Metallica and Queensryche, alongside contemporary acts like Edguy and Dream Evil, Final Stage form a unique mix of classic and modern heavy power-metal. Now armed with their first full-length album, the group aims to not only match its previous feats, but also surpass them.
The socially conscious record features an array of heavy-metal songs, showcasing a wide and varied dynamic. The album boasts a range from progressive tracks such as Infidel, to flat-out heavy metal in Murder on Contract, to radio-friendly, melodic metal from the album's opener, Rise Again. Impressive production values flow throughout the disc, rivaling such classics as Judas Priest’s Painkiller, or Ride the Lightning from Metallica. Recorded at the same studio as the Phoenix EP – Spectre Sound – the album captures much of the same energy and power. Several musicians also guest on the album, notably Betrayer front man, Jeff Klingbeil, who contributed backing vocals, and guitar virtuoso Chris “CSP” Pitre.
Through the Mirror will be released in stores and online on November 30th.

"To Infinity and Beyond... Unless there's a Subway along the way" -CSP
Hey
All,
We
decided to finally revamp the style of the news section. The old style was
boring, as you can see in Old News. You asked
"when the hell are these 'updates' coming?" We delivered. If these
updates were a
pizza, they'd would be one month old, cold, half eaten, growing extra mushrooms, and we'd be minus a tip, but here goes:
First off, we performed with former Iron Maiden singer Paul Dianno on March 16. The show went great and it was an awesome night filled with a lot of beer, metal and soft-core debauchery. Thanks to all who came out in support.
Next up, and the most important piece of news, we would like to welcome a new drummer to the band, Justin Humphrey. The parting with TJ was mutual and we wish him the best in his future endeavors. Justin's member bio will be online shortly.
Third
but perhaps the best part of all, WE ARE GOING TO BE RECORDING A BAND SPANKIN'
NEW CD STARTING IN MAY! The title and songs are still being worked on, but rest
assured, it'll be every bit as heavy as the EP. There will be more guest
performances (not as many as Avantasia). Expect it see the light of day
before the end of 2007!
Lately,
we've been getting a ton of press, and being the huge rock stars (shyaa!) that
we are, who wouldn't expect it? Visit the site
and go into Media > Press for all new articles and reviews.
*Note,
the following
interview was named
one of the best of the year by the editor of Pivotal Rage. Go read it! (After
you're done here)
Finally,
when you've purchased twenty copies of Flight of the Phoenix from us, you can
get the twenty-first at CD Baby.
Well, that's all for now. As usual, stay tuned for further updates and as always, BUY A CD!
